Weiterbauen von Kleinhaus-Siedlungen in Wien

Wie können bestehende Siedlungsstrukturen innerhalb der Stadtgrenze genutzt werden um dem aktuellen Bevölkerungsanstieg in Wien gerecht zu werden? Und wie kann neuer und attraktiver Wohnraum entstehen, ohne dass dabei Gebiete neu erschlossen werden müssen? Diese Fragen werden von meiner Diplomarbeit beantwortet. Sie zeigt auf wie Wohnraum für 220.000 Personen in Gebieten mit Kleinhäusern entstehen kann. Durch das Szenario „Weiterbauen“ entstand ein städtebauliches Konzept, dass die Qualitäten der Kleinhaus-Siedlungen stärkt und eine Verdoppelung der Dichte ermöglicht. Die architektonischen und räumlichen Prototypen entsprechen den ökologischen und ökonomischen Ansprüchen einer modernen Stadtentwicklung in Hinsicht auf den Smart-Wohnungsbau und den sich laufend verändernden Lebensformen der Bewohner. Die drei Prototypen beziehen sich auf die Eigenheiten der durch die Analyse und Kategorisierung der Probanden entstandenen drei Schwerpunktgebiete. Sowohl die Unterteilung der Siedlungsgebiete wie auch die Prototypen lassen Mischformen zu und ermöglich daher eine Vielfalt an Möglichkeiten wie Wien wachsen kann.

How can existing urban settlement structures within the city limits be used to manage the current population growth in Vienna appropriately? And how can new and attractive housing be provided without having to add new areas to the existing urban space? These questions will be answered in my thesis. It shows how housing for 220’000 people in areas with small houses can be developed. With the scenario “building further”, an urban planning concept was established that strengthens the qualities small house developments and allows for a doubling of the concentration of population. The architectural and territorial prototypes conform to the ecological and economical requirements of modern urban development. They also take smart construction for housing and the constantly changing life styles of its residents into account. The three prototypes are based on the characteristics of the three areas of focus resulting from the analysis and categorization of experimental subjects. Both the division of the urban areas as well as the prototypes allow mixed forms and therefore enable a large number of possibilities of how Vienna can grow in the future.
